Mission Statement
If we create and maintain an effective positive learning environment, establishing behavioral supports, then the student at Towngate will achieve social, emotional and academic success
ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
Towngate was built in 2004 from the ground up! Our first principal, Paula Rynders, started her quest for the best teachers in Moreno Valley. There were 50 applicants for the 20 teaching positions that needed to be filled. As only Mrs. Rynders could do she was able to simply choose the best. Of those original 20 teachers, TownGate is still home to at least 10.
Many teachers under the direction of Mrs. Rynders have gone on to become PD Specialist, Program Specialists, and Administrators, including Ms. Zarate.
Much of what started in 2004 continues to this day with the leadership of our Principal, Ms. Zarate.
The TownGate culture is based around the WHOLE student. Personal and Academic success occurs when school and family work in partnership towards a common goal. Our students' social emotional learning is also our priority and we apply the principles of “Positive Behavior Intervention and Support” (PBIS) where behavioral expectations are implemented, monitored, and evaluated.
The TownGate way is by setting high expectations for students, allowing students to be responsible for their own learning, and held accountable for their own behavior choices. This helps to develop students' self efficacy and provides them the opportunity to take pride in their accomplishments.
